Pocket FM, the India-based audio entertainment platform, has joined forces with ElevenLabs, a pioneer in voice cloning technology. This collaboration aims to streamline the conversion of text scripts into high-quality audio series using advanced artificial intelligence (AI).
Pocket FM, backed by Lightspeed Ventures, has been at the forefront of audio entertainment, offering serialized content across various genres. The partnership with ElevenLabs, known for its cutting-edge voice cloning technology, marks a significant leap in content production efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
During the experimental phase, Pocket FM successfully produced over 30,000 hours of audio series using ElevenLabs' AI technology. This impressive output demonstrated the potential to scale up content production significantly. With the full rollout, Pocket FM anticipates tripling its content library, which currently boasts over 100,000 hours of audio series.
One of the most notable achievements of this partnership is the dramatic reduction in production costs. By leveraging ElevenLabs' AI capabilities, Pocket FM has slashed audio production expenses by up to 90%. This cost efficiency makes high-quality audio content creation accessible to a broader range of writers and creators, regardless of their budget constraints.
The integration of ElevenLabs‘ technology into Pocket FM's platform allows writers to convert their scripts into audio series with remarkable ease. By navigating to the “Write” tab in the Pocket FM app and selecting “Series,” writers can initiate the storytelling process. After ensuring their script meets the minimum word count, they can convert it into an audio series with a single tap, choosing from approximately 50 different voices and background music options.
