It uses Honcho dialectic user modelling to build a progressively deeper profile of your communication style and work patterns. The agent curates its own memory with periodic nudges and uses FTS5 full text search with Riepilogo LLM for cross session recall. You never have to re explain context, which saves significant time on recurring workflows.

When Hermes solves a complex problem, it automatically writes a reusable SKILL.md document so it never forgets the solution. These skills follow the agentskills.io open standard and self improve during repeated use. You can also browse and install community created skills from the Skills Hub with a single command, giving your agent new capabilities instantly.

Connect Telegram, Discord, Slack, WhatsApp, and Signal through one gateway process. Start a conversation on Telegram, continue it in your terminal, and receive voice memo transcriptions across platforms. The gateway runs as a systemd service with full user authorisation controls including DM pairing codes, per platform allowlists, and rate limited security.

Hermes Agent supports local execution, Docker containers, SSH remote servers, Modal, Daytona, Singularity, and Vercel Sandbox. Serverless options like Daytona and Modal let your agent hibernate when idle and wake on demand, costing nearly nothing between sessions. You can run a capable agent on a $5 per month VPS or scale it across a GPU cluster.
